Why is the loss of fast recovery diode greater than that of Schottky diode?

Schottky diode has lower VF than fast recovery diode, so the loss is smaller.

Generally speaking, current generates some functions through a device, which leads to the heating of circuit devices, but this heat is not what we want. We hope that the smaller the heat is, the better. It is best to have no heat (but this is impossible). This is the main loss we usually say. The same is true of diodes. When diodes convert alternating current into direct current, they will also generate heat, which is the main loss of Schottky diodes and fast recovery diodes. The heat generated is related to the internal resistance. The greater the internal resistance is, the greater the heat is. According to the power calculation formula: power consumption p=ui (W), under the same current, the greater the voltage, the greater the power consumption.

When the VF is larger, the loss generated by flowing through the diode is also larger, because Schottky diodes have lower voltage drop (VF) and smaller loss, which is why the loss of fast recovery diodes is larger than Schottky diodes.
